• King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia had a large-sized gold statue made, 30m high and 3m wide, Then, the king gave orders for all his officials and other officials of the provinces to come together. The king ordered them to bow down to the gold statue, saying, that anyone who does not worship and bow down to the statue will be immediately thrown down into a blazing furnace.

Upon hearing the sounds of a lot of instruments praising for the statue, all people bowed down to the statue, except the Jewish boys Shadrach, Meshach, and Abenego who had been sent into exiles. They cannot bow down to any statue except the Lord their God.

    •

The king's attendants watched it, and said to the king.

"Your Majesty, the three Jews did not bow down to the statue that you had issued the order to do."

Then, they were brought before the king. The king who had trusted the three boys flew into a rage.

"You refused to worship and bow down to the statue. And then, doesn't it matter that you will be thrown into the blazing furnace?

      "The three boys answered proudly.

"Yes, Your Majesty, We will be willing to throw ourselves into the blazing furnace. We believe that our God will rescue us. If he does not, we will not worship and bow down to your god."

Then, the king lost his temper, and ordered his men,

"Heat the furnace seven times hotter than usual!"

    •

The three boys were thrown into the furnace. The flames burned up the guards who took them to the furnace. But, four men were in the furnace.

Watching this, the king jumped to the feet, thunderstruck, and asked his officials.

"Didn't we throw three boys into the furnace?"

      Yes, Your Majesty."

"The fourth man must certainly be the God that saves them. Servants of the Supreme God! Come out, at once."

And, they came out of the furnace, at once. Their hairs were not singed, and there was no smell of smoke on them.

"I declare that anyone who speaks disrespectfully about the God of Jews will be killed." There is no other god who can rescue like this."

Afterward, the king trusted the three boys, more and more, and helped them live better.
